Summer Reading Challenge - Week 1

2nd Jul 2021

The summer holidays have started and school is out, but lots of you are still busy little book worms and have made an EXCELLENT start to our 'Summer Reading Challenge'.

The aim is to reach your target and in doing so help your team to reach their goal.  The team who achieves their target number of points will receive an extra special 'prize' from Mr Quinn in September.

There are four teams in total - Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw & Slytherin - with pupils from P4-P6 in each team.  All pupils have their own individual target to meet & will only be included in the overall prize if they have contributed (by reading and quizzing) to their teams result.  It should be noted that once pupils reach their target they will not be set a new one (as this would affect the overall team total), but they can continue to reach their 2nd, 3rd, etc. and earn those all important points to help their team achieve their goal.

We will provide weekly updates about pupils who have reached their target and the progress of all teams.  The first week has seen a total of 17 pupils earn points for their team and since finishing up at school we have had a change in the leaderboard with 'Ravenclaw' edging in front of 'Slytherin' (see full details of the team results below).  It is brilliant to see so many making a such strong start to the challenge, with one pupil in particular achieving their target TWICE - well done Caitlin McMullen (you can download your certificates below)!

Keep up the great work boys & girls we can't wait to see which team will be in the lead next week. :)
