September/October News - P5 Mr Duffy

27th Oct 2023
The boys and girls had a very busy start to the school year and everyone has settled in brilliantly.

In Literacy, we revised our capital letters and full stops. We looked at alphabetical order and plural nouns. We also used iPads to find interesting facts about the Blue Whale and created a Fact file. We had great fun working in pairs to create Autumn and Halloween poems.

In Numeracy, we revised two digit adding and subtracting. We consolidated 2D Shape and used mirrors to find lines of symmetry and right angles. Next, we created  dinosaurs from 2D Shapes.

In World Around Us we continued our theme of Rugby World Cup and researched the different countries participating in it. We designed Fact Files using our ICT skills.

We painted beautiful Autumn Trees using our fingertips. Then we decorated skulls for Halloween. In Religion we learned about the Feast of the Holy Rosary.

Enjoy the midterm break! Happy Halloween!!
