September in Primary 6
At the beginning of the month we welcomed the Baton of Hope which promotes mental health awareness. We formed a guard of honour, produced artwork of ‘Sunflowers’’ and sang songs of hope and positivity.
We are really enjoying our PE lessons. They are helping us to stay active and healthy. Regular exercise improves our heart health and strengthens our muscles. PE teaches us about teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship which are great skills to have. Look at the photographs of us participating in Healthy Kidz lessons with Erin and Tanisha. We are also enjoying our sessions with Ciaran McKeever, Armagh County Board Coach. We had a visit from Mr. McKearney, GAA Development Officer from Abbey CBS. He provided us with skills, challenges and games. We look forward to him visiting again next year!
We worked together to create wall displays and have used our creativity to make some wonderful pieces. In Literacy we enjoyed learning ‘Everyday Expressions’ like ‘Time is running out.’ In our Viking topic we made Viking helmets and placed them on our heads! We tried to look as vicious as the Vikings. We also designed Viking shields.
Well done to all our Pupils of the Week, those who met their Accelerated Reader target and those who received certificates in Mathletics.
