New Road Safety Signs

6th Apr 2022

Think before you park ❗ This week we were visited by the PSNI and the Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Saftey Partnership who delivered new  "Think before you park," and "No Stopping" kiddie Cut Out Parking Signs🚸 These signs are there to encourage everyone to avoid parking at the school gates. When cars park directly outside our gates it creates issues from emerging traffic and also for pupils who have to walk off the pavement to get by.  Amy Rose and Tara from our school council were on hand to accept the signs as our school council have raised the issue of safer road conditions for our school community. Lydia from the PSNI informed our school council that the 30 miles per hour speed limits in the village will now be extended past our school and up past the St Patrick's GFC grounds so that pedestrians walking along that stretch of road should also feel safer from speeding cars. This is great news all round for creating safer road conditions in our community.
