P5 September News

3rd Oct 2025

September has been a busy month for everyone in school and at home. During the first week, we welcomed the Baton of Hope. We formed a guard of honour both outside and inside our school. We created beautiful sunflowers that represented hope and positivity.

In Literacy we read historical stories. We consolidated nouns, verbs and using capital letters, full stops and question marks.  We wrote about the Salmon of Knowledge and our favourite memory from the summer.  In Numeracy we revised numbers to 1000. Then we learned numbers to 10,000 and rounding to 10, 100 and 1000. We also did practical activities on measurement, using metres and centimetres.

In World around Us we are learning about Food. We are enjoying PE sessions with Armagh coach Ciaran McKeever who is teaching us new skills every week.

Congratulations to our Pupils of the Week, Accelerated Reader target achievers and Mathletics certificate winner.
