P4 - Star Pupils - 22/05

22nd May 2020

It is fantastic to see all the wonderful work that is going on at home.  This week has been particularly busy for lots of you with school work and helping around the house.

Last week's dictionary & calligram work was a huge hit with lots of you, particularly Grace L & Eibhlin who made a wonderful shape poem about her kit.

Most pupils favourite activity this week was the 3D shape work.  We had everything from sorting to colouring and labelling by Senan and James did a shape hunt around his house.  I'm delighted to see you have all remembered your 3D shapes so well.

I hope you all enjoyed researching your birds this week & have seen some excellent reports.  Kayden made great use of books that he had at home, whilst Jack was very independent and used online sources.  Odhran has been very lucky to find that a starling has made its nest in his patio and her new chicks have been born.

It is great to see that you are all still keeping active, getting out for walks or helping at the farm.  John was busy planting spuds with his cousins, I can't wait to see how they progress.

Baking is still a top choice for lots of you during your time at home with James, Ella M & Emma all baking this week.  I have seen some delicious treats over the past number of weeks and this week sees a lot more.  You've given me some inspiration so I think I shall do some baking today. :)

Even with all the busy things that are going on it is fantastic to take some time out to read in a quiet space.  This week Ella M's mummy was calling for her and got no reply because she had found a quiet spot and was engrossed in the David Walliams book 'Mr Stink'.  So remember to take 10-15 minutes each day to read alone or with someone & to keep working towards those AR targets.

Have a wonderful weekend & enjoy the Bank Holiday on Monday!

Take Care
