🌟 A Brilliant Start for Primary 3! 🌟
Primary 3 have had an amazing start to the school year! The children have settled in brilliantly and are already showing great enthusiasm for learning.
📖 Literacy
We’ve been diving into the wonderful world of Jill Murphy, enjoying stories like Whatever Next and Peace at Last. Pupils have been exploring story structure and using sequencing words like first, next, then, and finally to retell the stories in their own words. It’s been a joy to see their confidence grow as storytellers!
🔢 Numeracy
In Numeracy, we’ve been working with numbers up to 50. The children have been learning to recognise and build numbers using tens and ones, helping them understand place value. Through games and hands-on activities, they’ve also been counting, ordering and spotting number patterns. Their number knowledge is really taking off!
🍂 The World Around Us
Our topic this term is Autumn. Pupils have been learning about seasonal changes and keeping an eye out for signs of autumn in our school grounds. From colourful leaves to chilly breezes, they’ve been keen observers of the world around them. We also got creative by making hedgehogs and autumn trees using a variety of materials—our classroom is looking wonderfully seasonal!
💬 PDMU (Personal Development and Mutual Understanding)
In PDMU, we’ve been reading lots of stories and taking part in activities to practise our listening skills, cooperation, respect and kindness. It’s been lovely to see the children working together and supporting one another as they build positive relationships in the classroom.
We’re so proud of how well Primary 3 have started the year and can’t wait to see what the next term brings!
