P.2./P.3 May News
This month in literacy we learned about question words and commas. We used commas to write down some of our favourite things to eat and our favourite colours. We also learned about riddles and tongue twisters. We tried our best to say all of the tongue twisters but we found them very tricky. One of our favourite tongue twisters was she sells sea shells by the sea shore. We also learned about the author Julia Donaldson. We read The Gruffalo, Superworm and Charlie Cooks Favourite Book. We wrote about our favourite books, created our own monsters and we became authors and wrote our own story about Superworm. We loved dressing up for World Book Day and we really enjoyed our story time with the Primary 6 children.
In numeracy we learned how to find 10 more and 10 less than a number and we learned how to add using tens and units. Our favourite topic in numeracy this month was repeated addition. We can use repeated addition to help us work out the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
In World Around us we learned about ants, worms, spiders and ladybirds. Do you know that worms breath through their skin and that queen ants can live for 30 years?
