P2 News April 2025

30th Apr 2025

During April we have continued our farm topic and focused on Cows , Sheep and Hens. We particularly focused on hens.  James brought us in some of his eggs from his hens, one was bigger than the others and when we cracked it opened we found two yolks.  We also had a visit from Marlena Donnelly (P6) and Daithi Donnelly ( P3) who showed us a video of Stanford’s Eggs and how when they lay eggs, the eggs travel on a belt to be cleaned, stamped and sorted to get ready to go the shops.

Mrs Magennis P6 class and Primary 2 have set up a buddy system where the children will be given an opportunity every week to join together to learn about each other through reading books and other activities.  We are hoping that this will build friendships and empathy between the two classes.

We have very lucky with the weather and a lot of our learning is taking place outdoors with Primary 1.  We received new playground equipment and Primary 7 came and helped show us how to use them.

We were also very lucky to have Diane McKevitt come into our class also and help make us Easter Cards.  We also made Easter baskets and we hope all the kids enjoyed their Easter treats 🐣!
