October in Primary 6

20th Oct 2025

October is the month of the Rosary.   We made an effort to pray a decade of the Rosary each day.  We remembered to pray for ourselves, family, friends, teachers and those who are sick.  On 7th October we joined with the whole school and young people from around the world to pray the Rosary for peace, hope and healing in our world.

We created fact files and coloured pictures of Saint Carlo Acutis which were displayed at a very special and meaningful exhibition celebrating his life held in St. Joseph’s High School.  We will continue to pray to Saint Carlo.

We have been using ‘Micro:bits’ app in ICT.  We created a ‘Flashing Heart’ and designed our names on the LEDs.

During Maths Week 2025 we explored the amazing world of numbers, shapes, patterns and problem solving.  We worked with Primary 2 and completed a circuit of different activities.  We had a blast doing it!

We have been exploring the beauty of autumn through poetry.  We used our senses and imaginations to write poems about the sights, sounds and feelings of the season.  We focused on descriptive language, alliteration, rhyme and rhythm.

Well done to all our Pupils of the Week, those who met their Accelerated Reader target and those who received certificates in Mathletics.
