October in Mr Digney's P7

23rd Oct 2025

October has been a fantastic month in Primary 7, filled with exciting learning opportunities and memorable experiences!

In Numeracy, we tackled a range of problem-solving tasks that encouraged teamwork and critical thinking. One standout activity was European Primes, which required collaboration and strategic thinking. We also enjoyed a hands-on challenge where pupils worked together to construct cubes of varying volumes using paper, card, sellotape, and glue. It was both tricky and fun, and really helped develop our practical maths skills.

We also celebrated Maths Week, where our class took the lead in supporting younger pupils through interactive Kahoot quizzes and a lively game of Maths Bingo. It was a great way to build confidence and foster leadership skills.

In Literacy, we’ve been diving into the fascinating world of William Shakespeare. We explored his life and works, and even had the chance to “interview” the great man himself! Our focus has been on Macbeth, and pupils produced some excellent writing, including letters from Macbeth to Lady Macbeth following the witches’ prophecies, and balanced arguments debating whether Macbeth is a tragic hero or a dastardly villain.

Outside the classroom, Primary 7 have been active and competitive, taking part in several football blitzes. The team showed great spirit and performed brilliantly in all matches – well done to everyone involved!

It’s been a busy and rewarding month, and we’re looking forward to what November brings!
