November in Primary 5 📰
1st Dec 2025
November has been a great month of learning in Primary 5!
In Literacy we wrote newspaper reports based on the book, ‘The Wolves in the Walls’. We loved reading this enticing story and having the opportunity to imagine we were a newspaper reporter and making notes from a witness. We wrote excellent newspaper reports with snappy headlines and a witness statement with speech marks. Laoise Murray’s report, ‘Crazy Canines’ was chosen for the Wow Wall.
We have enjoyed working in teams to complete problem-solving questions in Numeracy and have developed our critical thinking skills.
We participated in an online workshop during Anti-Bullying Week with Carlos from Hip Psychology. We engaged in lots of activities to distinguish what bullying is and what we can do to make sure mean or bullying type behaviour stops.
In art we used our creativity to make our own unique Christmas tree decorations. We did this in preparation for writing a set of instructions in literacy, on how to make our decorations.
We know the importance of learning our times tables fluently in Primary 5. In ICT we used our coding skills to make a times tables tester using microbits. We also had a fireman come to visit us from the Fire and Rescue Service in Crossmaglen. This was very informative and we asked brilliant questions on how we can keep ourselves safe and prevent fires.
