May in Primary 6

2nd Jun 2025

During the month of May we learned and prayed different prayers to Mary.  We made a May altar and coloured different images of Mary.  We listened to the story of Bernadette of Lourdes.

The highlight of the month had to be our school outing to the Balmoral Show.  We had a great day.  Well done to Barry and Adam who were successful at winning prizes at one of the stalls.

We enjoyed participating in Sports Day 2025 and our Gaelic and netball tournaments.  We look forward to hearing the group and individual winners in the near future.  The excitement is building for next year when we will be the P7 captains.  We enjoyed taking part in the Miceal Murphy Annual Quiz and were delighted that Daniel and Kacey-Lou were part of the winning team.  We enjoyed the treats after provided by Friends of Cullyhanna school.

We were involved in our Community Litter Pick.  As part of our commitment to keeping the local area cleaner and greener we rolled up our sleeves and collected litter around the local area.  It was lots of fun while also ‘Giving Back’ to our local community.

At the end of the month we celebrated Literacy Week.  We took part in ‘Caught Reading Competition.’  We tried to be as imaginative as possible at reading in a range of creative places.  We participated in a book quiz and had buddy-reading sessions with P2/3.  We had lots of fun dressing up as our favourite book characters.

Well done to all pupils who received Pupil of the Week, Mathletics certificates and AR certificates.
