May in Primary 6
During the month of May we learned and prayed different prayers to Mary. We made a May altar and coloured different images of Mary. We listened to the story of Bernadette of Lourdes.
In Literacy, we wrote persuasion letters to the vice principal, Mr Digney. We tried to clearly express our ideas and opinions and how to build a strong argument using facts and good reasons. We tried to respectfully ask for changes or improvements we think are important for our school. Additionally it was a great way to practise formal writing skills and learn how to structure a letter. Mr Digney replied to our letters and told us our voice matters within the school.
The highlight of the month had to be our school outing to the Balmoral Show. We had a great day and are already planning and looking forward to Balmoral Show 2027! We also had the opportunity to participate in an exciting Bushcraft survival workshop where we built our own shelters and carried out fire lighting.
We continue to enjoy our extra PE lessons each week. We have Ciaran McKeever, Armagh Coaching Officer, working with boys and girls to develop their football skills and enjoy Gaelic games. He encourages players to work together as a team and to keep going even when things get tough!
Well done to the P6 boys who participated in the St. Colman’s College Blitz. They won the shield competition. All of the boys played their part in a great day of football and Callum was named player of the shield.
Well done to all pupils who received Pupil of the Week, Mathletics certificates and AR certificates throughout the month of May.
