March in Mr Digney's P7

30th Mar 2026

March has been a lively and productive month in our class. We spent time exploring the world of news reporting, learning how journalists distinguish between fact and opinion, and how to spot bias versus unbiased reporting. We discussed how news reporters work, what makes information trustworthy, and why accuracy matters. After this, we planned, wrote and recorded our very own news broadcasts, creating alternative versions of the story of The Three Little Pigs. The class showed great imagination and worked brilliantly both on and off camera.

In numeracy, we continued to challenge ourselves with a range of new concepts, including cube numbers, triangular numbers and budgeting tasks that connected maths to real-life situations. We also enjoyed using mathematical manipulatives such as pentominoes and worked through some tricky problem‑solving activities that required teamwork, persistence and clear thinking.

Alongside all of this, we continued with our Young Enterprise “Business Beginnings” course. The class has been busy developing ideas, planning products and working out costs as we prepare for our upcoming sale day next month. Excitement is building as everyone gets ready to showcase their hard work.
