December in Primary 6

16th Dec 2025

Our class have been busy preparing for Christmas. We learned about the Advent wreath and made Advent promises which we are trying hard to keep! We had lots of fun making our Christmas hats to wear to our Christmas dinner which was delicious –thank you to all the kitchen staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed a concert featuring the story of ‘The Snowman’ performed by Newry Chamber of Music. It was a wonderful opportunity to hear a string quartet and Soprano live in our school.

We led an assembly on our school value ‘Community'. The class explained what community means and shared practical ways everyone can show kindness, honesty and responsibility every day. This helps create a safe and supportive environment where we can learn and grow together. We enjoyed learning and practising two Christmas carols, Silent Night and The Little Drummer Boy, on the tin whistle and performed these at the last assembly of the year. P6 choir members took part in a fabulous Carol Service in St. Patrick’s Church.

We wish you all the blessings of a happy and holy Christmas. Best wishes for 2026.
