Baton of Hope visits St Patrick's

3rd Sep 2025

Today, we had the honour of welcoming the Baton of Hope, a powerful national symbol promoting mental health awareness, to our school.

The visit formed part of the Baton’s journey to schools and communities, aiming to spark conversations, inspire hope and encourage action around mental wellbeing.

As you can see from the photos, the children welcomed the Baton of Hope, along with members from PIPS, with open arms. Forming a guard of honour, the children showcased beautiful artwork, held balloons, waved flags and sang songs of hope and positivity, led by one of our P7 pupils.

Our entire school community had a great time celebrating life along with our Board of Governors Chairperson, Teresa Nugent. Teresa, along with the Rural Health Partnership, helped co-ordinate and organise this wonderful event of remembrance.
