April in Primary 5!
Primary 5 have had a very busy and exciting month of learning!
In Numeracy, pupils revised the four operations and applied their knowledge to solve a range of word problems. They also explored the “find a pattern” problem‑solving strategy, developing their reasoning and critical thinking skills.
In Literacy, the class wrote poems linked to our World Around Us topic, “Blue Planet.” The children explored the question “Is plastic fantastic?” and used persuasive language and rhetorical questions to encourage readers to recycle and care for our planet.
As part of our World Around Us learning, Primary 5 learned all about sharks. They created informative brochures explaining why sharks are vital to the ocean ecosystem and why it is important to protect them.
In Art, pupils produced beautiful silhouettes of sea creatures using chalk and oil pastels, inspired by our ocean theme.
We would also like to congratulate Anna in Primary 5 on her recent gymnastics competition win. The class loved hearing all about her achievement and seeing her medal — well done, Anna!
