April in Primary 7

30th Apr 2026

This month has been a very exciting and productive one in Primary 7. There has been a real buzz of enthusiasm in the classroom as we began producing our products in preparation for our much‑anticipated Big Sale Day on Friday 8th May. Pupils have worked exceptionally well together, showing excellent teamwork, creativity and problem‑solving skills as they planned, designed and worked through the early stages of production. It has been wonderful to see pupils taking ownership of their ideas and working responsibly towards a shared goal.

In Literacy, the class has been exploring the creative world of stop‑motion animation. Pupils learned how animations are created by taking a series of photographs and carefully sequencing them together to create the illusion of movement. They planned storylines, designed characters and backgrounds, and used technology effectively to bring their ideas to life. The pupils demonstrated impressive imagination and creativity throughout this process, as well as developing important skills such as cooperation, communication and digital literacy.

In Numeracy, Primary 7 have been developing their mathematical knowledge and understanding through a range of practical and challenging activities. Pupils have been exploring 3D shapes, learning to identify and describe their properties, including vertices, edges and faces. Alongside this, the class has been working with negative numbers, using number lines and real‑life problem‑solving tasks to deepen understanding and build confidence.

Well done to all of Primary 7 for their hard work, enthusiasm and positive attitude to learning this month.
