🎃 October Adventures in Primary 7! 🍂
This month in Primary 7, the classroom was buzzing with energy, curiosity, and plenty of teamwork!
Maths Week was a real highlight! We explored maths in exciting new ways—both inside and outside the classroom. One of our favourite moments was teaming up with Mrs Lennon’s Primary 1 class. We became mini teachers, guiding the younger pupils through fun maths activities. It was brilliant to see how much they enjoyed learning with us!
Back in our own classroom, we got hands-on with Izak9, working in groups to solve colourful, interactive maths challenges. It really got our brains working and helped us see how maths can be both fun and collaborative. We also tackled lots of problem-solving tasks, sharpening our thinking skills and learning to work together to find solutions.
We had so much fun learning to code with Micro:bits in ICT! 💻✨ It was really exciting to see how we could make lights flash, create games, and even send messages to each other —all by writing our own code. At first it seemed tricky, but once we got the hang of it, we didn’t want to stop!
In World Around Us, we continued our journey through Irish history, focusing on the impact of the Great Famine. Using atlases, we investigated which counties were most and least affected. Working in pairs, we mapped out our findings and discussed how geography played a role in the famine’s effects. It was a powerful topic that helped us understand more about our country’s past.
As October comes to a close, we’re proud of all we’ve achieved—and we’re excited for what’s coming next.
