Operation Transformation at St Patrick's!

25th Feb 2020

St Patrick's GFC are currently running an excellent fundraiser that promotes physical and mental health improvement called Operation Transformation and here at the school we decided to get involved. Our classes have been busy with their daily 1km and 1 mile walks and we have had two extra special fitness sessions provided by local coaches. First up was our P4-7 classes who walked up to St Patrick's GFC to get put through their paces with a High intensity exercise session provided by Pauline Shields. Assisted by Mrs McKeown, the pupils enjoyed a variety of fun exercises. A healthy snack was then provided for all courtesy of Casey's Supermarket, Crossmaglen.

Our next special sessions were conducted by Sharon Carragher who came along to the school to give a special keep fit line dancing session with our Nursery, P1, P2 and P3 pupils. Sharon, helped by Mrs Murray, provided a fun filled session for our children and after all the work was done a healthy snack and a bottle of water were provided for each pupil courtesy of Murray's shop, Cullyhanna. We also held a non uniform day that helped raise proceeds towards the St Patrick's Operation transformation fund.

We continue to take part in this great initiative and our pupils are keen to continue the work moving forward. Many thanks to Pauline and Sharon for their great work with our pupils and a special thank you to Casey's and Murray's shop for the sponsorship of snacks.
