P2 March News
In March P2 have been very lucky to have had Mr Kelly, a student teacher from St Mary’s who has been teaching us about Space as our topic. We have been learning about the solar system and the 8 planets. We have also learned about the moon and all the stars. Did you know that the sun is our nearest star and at the center of our solar system?
We visited the Armagh Planetarium and enjoyed sitting back in the reclining seats and watching a 3D Space story, learning space facts and enjoying a 3D roller coaster over the entire dome. We also designed, built and launched our own rockets. We were also able to see a model of the international space station, feel a real moon rock and enjoy lots of interactive and sensory displays. A fantastic trip!!
During the month we have also enjoyed our money topic in maths learning all about the different coins and using these coins to buy thing in our class shop! We have also enjoyed making shramrock men and cards for St Patrick’s day, Mother’s Day boxes and cards for all the fantastic mammies and Easter crafts also! We really enjoyed taking part in the Green Day concert where we sang Lamh Lamh Eile and acted out the Irish poem Eadaí
We wish Mr Kelly all the best in his further studies in St Mary’s and thank him for all his hard work in Primary 2!
